5-year old saves Mom's life
Anthony D. Mathieo may be only five years old, but he saved his mom’s life last week. Anthony dialed his father’s phone and told him that his mom was laying on the floor and not moving. The father contacted the Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived they were met at the door by Anthony and his younger siblings, who then led them to the kitchen where his mother lay unresponsive. EMS arrived and began treatment and eventually transported her to Raulerson Hospital.
Anthony’s father told deputies that she has a history of medical problems.
Cpl. Kristin Gray wanted to convey admiration and praise to Anthony for his actions. He was nominated for the “Just-Us Citation Youth Recognition Award”.
Sheriff Noel E. Stephen presented Anthony with his award this morning, along with a $100 gift certificate.
Congratulations Anthony!
